Cloud repatriation isn't anti-cloud — it's good economics

I covered the cloud repatriation trend and it's easy to misread. Companies aren't fleeing the cloud out of nostalgia — it's cost, data sovereignty, and control economics kicking in at scale.

The nuanced take: hybrid is the real story. Some workloads belong in the cloud, some are cheaper and safer at home, and the winners are the ones who can move freely between.

Anyone gone through a repatriation project? I'd say the 'moving back' part is harder than the original move.

I wrote this up in more detail in the full blog post — The Great Cloud Repatriation: Why Local Data Centers Matter — with the deeper context, data, and code. Give it a read if you're curious.
